As a software engineer in Web3Sense focused on Web3Sense blockchain data platform you will play a key role in ensuring our backend data platform scales to accommodate an ever-growing volume of public blockchain data. This is a role that involves thinking about large-scale distributed systems and distributed databases, and is ideal for anyone passionate about those topics.
In this role you will:
- Design and develop distributed systems in a principled way and take part in high-impact architectural decisions.
- Engage in stimulating technical challenges in topics such as distributed systems, very large databases, SQL processing, data modeling, and systems performance.
- Assume ownership of components within our data platform, e.g., data ingestion, query performance, etc.
- Write code mostly in Python (PySpark), shell scripting.
- Be familiar with querying blockchain nodes through different interfaces and using AWS products (Lambda, RedShift, EventBridge). Knowledge of REST API is required.
Preferred candidates have a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience and have experience with database internals, massive data storage and processing, and systems performance.

In this role you will:
- Help build foundational infrastructure for web3 analytics.
- Help ingest NFTs and other smart contract transactions to our data lake
Preferred candidates have extensive experience with:
- Development and deployment in cloud computing platforms (e.g. especially AWS).
- Developing on SQL and No-SQL systems.
- Production environment with one or more of: large-scale distributed systems; high-availability, and real-time systems; applied cryptography; compilers; any other equivalent/adjacent technology.
- Using and deploying smart contracts (Solidity contracts and/or Rust based smart contracts).
- Familiarity with the Web3 frontend stack (ethers.js/web3.js, EIP-1193, client-side private key management, etc.)
Preferred candidates have a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience and have experience with blockchain protocols, such as Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Flow, etc.), and entire DeFi ecosystem.
